The Biester Palace was built by Portuguese architect José Luís Monteiro in the last decades of the 19th century, bringing together great historical and artistic influences.

Its most striking features include paintings by Luigi Manini, carving work by Leandro de Souza Braga, and stuccoes by Domingos Meira.
