Start with a cruise on Loch Ness and a visit to the 13th-century ruins of Urquhart Castle. Enjoy free time in Beauly for lunch in local cafés and a visit to Beauly Priory, which appears in the Outlander book Dragonfly in Amber.

Next, visit a Highland whisky distillery, where you can learn about whisky and choose whether to sample a dram. Then, continue to Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns to explore their history.

The tour returns to Inverness in the early evening. In winter, the route runs in reverse.
