Royal Palace of Turin

The Royal Palace was the residence of the Savoia royal family, who ruled Italy during the entire monarchy until it became a Republic in 1946. The 16th-century structure showcases baroque architecture that celebrates luxurious materials – gold, jewels, and fine fabrics. The palace shares a border with Palazzo Chiablese and the Chapel of the Holy Shroud, which contains the Shroud of Turin.
