Schloss Tratzberg
Ticket Type for Schloss Tratzberg

Overview
Tratzberg Castle is located between Jenbach and Schwaz, high above the Inn Valley, in the middle of Tyrol. The former fortress was first mentioned in history as early as the 13th century. In the following centuries, the former border fortress between Bavaria and Tyrol went through an eventful history: numerous changes of ownership, looting, destruction, rebuilding and a devastating fire in 1492 left their mark on the castle. Today, Tratzberg Castle is one of the most impressive and best-preserved castles in Austria. In the summer months, the Renaissance jewel can be visited almost daily. Visitors experience how Emperor Maximilian I resided, they marvel at the famous Habsburg Hall or the impressive Queen’s Room and the Fuggerstube. Visitors are guided through the approximately 500-year-old, originally furnished rooms by means of an audio guide (in 9 languages).
